From my fairy collection I bring you Hazel! She inhabits the bottom of Hazel trees, so you might want to keep an out for her when the soft green leaves start to unfurl in Spring.  Also, ‘lambs tails’ catkins appear which Hazel helps pollinate making sure there are nuts to gather later in the year. Like her friend Oakie, Hazel uses the cups of the trees fruit to wear as a hat, pictured here with a leaf giving extra drama! as ! Make sure you look after her by printing a copy of her out and leaving her at the base of a hazel tree. The trees don’t have a single trunk but several slender shafts which make great walking sticks because they grow so straight and are pliable. Forked hazel is particularly good for divining water! If you cut anything from a hazel tree, remember to thank the spirit for the gift you are taking.
